The ICCRA Global Board is a volunteer-led group of experienced professionals drawn from across the international critical control room community.

Board members contribute their time, expertise, and insight to guide the strategic direction of ICCRA, ensuring the Alliance remains independent, inclusive, and focused on advancing excellence in mission-critical control room services worldwide.

Representing a broad range of industries, regions, and disciplines, the Board provides governance, oversight, and leadership in support of ICCRA’s mission to connect professionals, share best practice, and drive continuous improvement across the sector.

Their commitment reflects a shared belief in collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and the value of a global community working together to strengthen critical control room operations.

Peter Prater is the co-founder and Global Chairman of ICCRA, which came about as the result of Peter’s various interactions with critical control room leaders over the years and the realisation that no single organisation drew them together and promoted discussion about all the matters of importance to the effective provision of critical control room services. 

Peter is a Life Member of British APCO and served in many roles for that association since its formation until 2016 and the formation of ICCRA. Peter has been employed in and around control rooms all of his working life, be that as an end user in the British Army’s Royal Corps of Signals, as an independent consultant helping organisations assess and deploy critical technologies in support of their dispatch operations and latterly as a supplier of such technologies. 

Peter is Business Development Manager at Frequentis.

Chris is a senior consulting leader specialising in operating model design, process optimisation, and organisational transformation within mission-critical environments.
As Managing Director and Founder of DG Advisory Global, he works with organisations worldwide to optimise control room and operations centre performance, strengthening security and protecting people and assets. His work focuses on streamlining workflows, aligning technology with strategic objectives, improving efficiency, and implementing sustainable operating models that deliver lasting value.
An internationally recognised expert in control rooms, command centres, and operations centres, Chris regularly chairs and speaks at global conferences, sharing insights on operational excellence, resilience, and innovation.
Chris previously served as a senior British police officer, completing a 15-year career and attaining the rank of Superintendent. His roles included Head of the Force Control Room, Deputy Head of Counter-Terrorism Support, and Deputy Head of policing on the London Underground.
Following his policing career, Chris held senior leadership roles at Deloitte, PA Consulting, and Sopra Steria, leading major business and digital transformation programmes, complex case management solutions, and strategic business case development.

Christopher Carver is a public safety and leadership professional with more than 30 years of experience working alongside some of the world’s most respected organisations and teams on complex, high-impact challenges.

His career spans leadership roles across emergency response, public safety technology, and organisational transformation – from responding to major incidents in America’s largest city, to delivering multi-billion-dollar technology programmes, to supporting a faith-based community through the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also played a key role in launching and growing a new public safety software product line, achieving significant year-on-year growth during the pandemic.

Christopher has trained and mentored new 9-1-1 professionals, coached and supported sales teams, and regularly speaks at conferences on leadership, inclusion, and improving public safety outcomes. He is a passionate advocate for authenticity and inclusion, openly sharing his experience of coming out in a firehouse in 1997 and the lessons it continues to shape in his leadership approach.

A consistent theme throughout his work is a deep belief in the power of people to solve problems collaboratively. Christopher is driven by the conviction that by listening, supporting, and engaging – particularly with voices that are too often unheard – meaningful and lasting improvement is possible for communities, organisations, and society as a whole.

Professionally, Christopher serves as Director of Market Development at Octave, where he connects sales, partnerships, technology development, and strategy with the needs of the public safety community.
